Liberal Dems Declare War ... On Rush Limbaugh
The Limpire Strikes Back
You can always tell when liberals and Democrats are very much on the wrong side of an issue; news about the issue will never appear on AP or Reuters.
It comes as no big surprise, then, that the current foolishness regarding the Media Matters' slandering of conservative radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh, and the resulting echo in the lefty-loonoshpere, has been simply ignored by the wire services.
Yeah, Drudge has headlined the showdown between Reid and Limbaugh, but Matt is Limbaugh's friend and the story is, after all, quite sensational.
I'll be the first to admit I listen to Limbaugh's show daily. I'll also be the fist to say I heard Limbaugh call one pathetic liar a "phony soldier." I also heard Limbaugh slam the left for using 'phony soldiers' to advance the anti-war agenda. The solders Limbaugh was talking about are ones like Jesse Macbeth, an individual who Fox News actually first called a phony soldier on 20 May.
It's not about MoveOn.org's attack on General Petraeus. That's too easy.
I think the story is about the far left pulling the strings of some Democrats who have backtracked on the war. Yeap, these are the same Democrats who have said the war was lost and insulted the troops. Now, these are the same Democrats who want us to believe they are for the troops.
Right.
The big problem for the left is that the top three Democrat presidential candidates have said there's no way they are going to pull troops out of Iraq before 2013. To hide this little problem, Media Matters, an outfit linked directly to Bill and Hillary Clinton, as well as billionaire leftist George Soros, went on the attack to deflect attention from the issue. Quite a few reporters ran the story and quoted Media Matters as their source without ever contacting Limbaugh for his side of the issue. Additionally, on his Web site, Limbaugh posted a transcript and clips of the show containing his statements, all primary sources ignored by these so-called professional journalists.
What confuses me is -- if there is no liberal bias in the mainstream media, as so many elite journalists have claimed -- there must be a lot of dumb ass journalists who are too lazy to do their own reporting. (I can say that because I have a journalism degree, which complies with liberal dogma that states I must be a member of a clan before I can have opinions about it.)
The best thing to come out of this needless hoopla is the fact that I now easily can separate the real journalists from the yellow ones just by the way they reported this story.

Jesse Adam Macbeth, 23, formerly of Phoenix, garnered attention on blogs and in some alternative media after he began claiming in 2005 to have been awarded a Purple Heart for his service, which he said included slaughtering innocents in a Fallujah mosque. His story was contradicted by his discharge form, showing that he was kicked out of the Army after six weeks at Fort Benning, Ga., in 2003 because of his “entry level performance and conduct.”If the story is not about all anti-war soldiers, what is it all about?
A complaint unsealed Friday in U.S. District Court in Seattle charged him with one count of using or possessing a forged or altered military discharge certificate, and one count of making false statements in seeking benefits from the Veterans Administration.
Macbeth’s public defender, Jay Stansell, declined to comment.
Organizations that opposed the war, including Iraq Veterans Against the War, posted videos or statements containing Macbeth’s claims on their Web sites. In one videotaped interview, a skinny, stuttering Macbeth, dressed in a camouflage jacket, described slaughtering hundreds of people in a mosque: “We would burn their bodies ... hang their bodies from the rafters in the mosque,” he said.
